'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra draws large crowds in Jammu’s city-centre amid growing enthusiasm'

As Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) continues To expand it's footprints in Jammu city, more and more people are participating in it with each passing day. Today, the yatra  entered thr city centre areas of DC Office Chowk and Indira Chowk. As the word spread about its entry, people came in their droves to avail services like free health check up, opening of  India Post Payments Bank accounts, loans up to ₹10,000 under PM SVANidhi scheme for streets vendors. A large number of people also benefited from on-the-spot facility to get either new aadhaar cards issued or existing ones updated.
As part of the unique initiative to bring Government services at people’s doorsteps, the specially designed IEC (Information, Education, Communication) van created awareness about various  schemes and initiatives of the Government of India to better people's lives in the country, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. On the occasion, Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to make India a  developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047 was administered to the participants. Calendars issued by the Government of India were distributed free of cost to the participants. 
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023. Its aim is to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country. The objective is to reach out to public to create awareness and attain saturation of  welfare schemes on sanitation, essential financial services, electricity, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition and reliable healthcare.
