'Rajouri Police Recovers Narcotic Substances in Two Separate Incidents – Two Accused Apprehended'

As part of its ongoing campaign against the drug menace, Rajouri Police achieved significant success in two separate cases carried out by Police Station Kandi and Police Station Thanamandi resulting in the recovery of heroin and other psychotropic substances and the apprehension of two accused persons.
*CASE 1: Police Station Kandi*
During routine Naka checking at Badhal Puli a police team from PS Kandi led by SHO Kandi intercepted a suspicious individual approaching from the Kotranka side. On seeing the police party the accused attempted to flee but was swiftly  apprehended.
During personal search the following substances were recovered:
Tramadol Tablets – 02 strips (20 tablets)
Pregabalin Tablets – 05 strips (50 tablets)
Tramadol Injections – 02
The accused was identified as *Mohd Kabir S/O Nazir Hussain resident of Mohra Kotranka Rajouri*
In this regard a case FIR No. 66/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kandi and further investigation is underway.
*CASE 2: Police Station Thanamandi*
In another case a Naka checkpoint was laid by a police team from PS Thanamandi led by SHO Thanamandi at Churung Bridge. During checking one person was found moving suspiciously and was apprehended. A personal search led to the recovery of 8 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance.
The accused was identified as *Sheraz Ahmed @ Raja S/O Mohd Azam resident of Thanamang Darhal Rajouri*
In this regard, a case FIR No. 82/2025 under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thanamandi and investigation is in progress. Efforts are being made to uncover the forward and backward linkages of the drug network involved.
These recoveries reflect the Rajouri Police’s firm resolve to combat drug trafficking and safeguard the youth from falling prey to drug abuse. The district police continues to intensify its efforts under its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.
