In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown against theft and criminal activities, Jammu Police, have successfully solved a theft case within the jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak. Acting promptly on a complaint, the police recovered ₹40,000 in stolen cash, arrested one accused, and apprehended a juvenile involved in the crime.
The case was initiated on the written complaint of Naresh Manhas, wife of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Galwadey Chak, who reported a theft at Sahib Bandgi Ashram, Galwadey Chak. Upon receiving the complaint, a formal case was registered under FIR No. 145/2024, U/S 305/331(4) BNS* at Police Station Kanachak.
A dedicated team from BPP Gajansoo, led by PSI Maroof Ahmed (IC BPP),* undertook a thorough investigation. As a result, the police arrested one accused identified as Govind Ram alias Kalu, son of Gopal Dass, resident of Bhullay Chak, Tehsil Marh. Additionally, one juvenile whose identity is withheld in accordance with legal provisions was apprehended.
During interrogation, both the accused and the Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) confessed to their involvement in the theft and revealed the location of the stolen cash. Acting on this disclosure, the police successfully recovered the entire amount of ₹40,000. The juvenile has been sent to the Juvenile Observation Home in RS Pura for protective custody.
Jammu Police reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding life and property, acting decisively against such elements, and ensuring justice for victims. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
