'NSS unit of Government Degree College Paloura organised Seven days Winter Camp in the adopted village Baran of Panchayat Baran'

NSS unit of Government Degree College Paloura organised Seven days WinterCamp in the adopted village Baran of Panchayat Baran. The aim of the WinterCamp was to create awareness among masses about various social issues likeFemale foeticide, Drug abuse, cyber crime, Health and hygiene among women andchildren, AIDS and fundamental rights and duties etc.

The camp was inaugurated byDr.AshuVashisht, Principal of the college. On the first day, NSS volunteersdistributed stationary kits to the students of Govt. Primary School Baran inthe presence of Sh. Saudagar Singh, SarpanchBaran. Later, NSS volunteerscarried out door to door campaign against drugs and narcotics. On day 2, aninteractive session on Yoga and Meditation in collaboration with “Art ofLiving” was organised.  Nukkadnatak andrally on the theme “Save Girl Child” was also organised in the adopted village.The day 3 marked the celebration of constitution day in the adopted village inwhich rally,  Nukkadnatak on “Know yourConstitution” and reading of Preamble  was organised. On fourth day rally, door to door campaign andnukkadnatak on cyber Jagrukta was organised. Distribution of sanitary pads andnutrition kits to women and children and awareness programme on health andhygiene in the slums of Baran was organised on day 5. On day 6, of the Winter Camprally, seminar and door to door campaign was organised to make people awareabout AIDS and to end stigma associated with it. On the concluding day,cleanliness cum plantation drive was carried out. The NSS volunteers along withPrincipal and faculty members planted various decorative, shade and fruits treein the college campus and adopted village Baran. Later valedictory programmewas organised in which certificates were distributed to the NSS volunteers fortheir participation in the winter camp. The whole programme was coordinated byDr.Shivani Sharma, NSS PO of the college.
