'Amid ED crackdown, Mahadev online betting app opens line for India-Pakistan World Cup match: Report'

India vs Pakistan world cup match: The app has reportedly released several promotional videos inviting bets for the ongoing India-Pakistan cricket match, which starts in less than 90 minutes.

Amid the ongoing, high-voltage India vs Pakistan ICC World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad today, several videos have been put up on Mahadev Book app and its subsidiary 'Kheloyar' app, inviting bets on the sporting event. A large number of bets are expected to be made on both platforms today as the match continues.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently probing the Mahadev Book app for money laundering. Recently, investigations by the central agency revealed that kingpins of the Mahadev betting app, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, collaborated with gangster Dawood Ibrahim's brother Mushtaqeem Ibrahim Kaskar to develop the 'Kheloyar' app.

It is under Kaskar's protection that the 'Kheloyar' app is being run in Pakistan. Kaskar is said to have provided Chandrakar with his personally trusted protective detail of security guards and 20 to 30 bouncers, sources said.

Sources privy to the ED's investigation told Indiatoday.in that Kaskar's aide, belonging to Pakistan's Sindh province, runs the app, with Chandrakar and Uppal at the helm.

Chandrakar and Uppal founded several websites and apps under the brand 'Mahadev Book app', which offers online casino and betting platforms, and other illegal activities. The two accused, against whom the ED and the Chhattisgarh Police have issued a Lookout Circular (LOC), are believed to be in hiding in Dubai. The central agency found substantial evidence of money laundering and froze or seized proceeds of crime worth Rs 417 crore.

A number of celebrities, including Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Kapil Sharma and Shraddha Kapoor, among others, have been summoned in connection with the case. Earlier, India Today exclusively reported that several Bollywood bigwigs such as Sanjy Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and Tiger Shroff, among others, had attended Chandrakar's wedding in February this year in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
