Dress code will be enforced for entering the sanctum sanctorum of the world famous Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Common devotees will be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple wearing dhoti-sola, while it will be mandatory for women to wear saree. Along with this, the sanctum sanctorum will soon be opened for all the devotees.
Free entry will be given to Bhasma Aarti once a week.
A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee held on Thursday evening. In this meeting it was decided that the people of Ujjain would be given free entry into Bhasma Aarti once a week. Tuesday has been fixed for this. The capacity of devotees will be kept between 300 to 400.
Dress code will be mandatory on special days
It is noteworthy that on special days i.e. when the entry of common devotees into the sanctum sanctorum is closed, the dress code remains mandatory. That means, those entering the sanctum sanctorum have to wear dhoti and sola. Till now, on normal days, all the devotees were allowed entry wearing normal clothes, but now this will not happen. After the opening of the sanctum sanctorum, common devotees will also be allowed entry only after wearing dhoti-sola. At the same time, it will be mandatory for women to wear saree.
There will be a meeting to open the sanctum sanctorum which has been closed for about two and a half months.
Now a decision will be taken in the next meeting regarding opening the sanctum sanctorum which has been closed for about two and a half months. There will be another meeting for this next week. However, about two to two and a half lakh devotees are coming to the temple every day. It is not possible to allow everyone to enter the sanctum sanctorum.
