'Traffic normal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway'

Traffic was normal on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Wednesday. Vehicle movement continues smoothly. Heavy vehicles will be dispatched after the light and private vehicles pass. After this the vehicles of security forces will be allowed.

Heavy and cargo vehicles will be diverted from Jakhaini Udhampur towards Srinagar. After this, the security forces will be able to move their vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar after taking stock of the latest situation on the highway.



The Mughal Road and SSG Road, connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Shopian in South Kashmir, are also open on both sides for the movement of light vehicles. Heavy vehicles will be allowed only after the light vehicles leave. Officials say that no vehicle will be allowed to move on the national highway and other routes after the stipulated time.

Traffic is normal on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Friday. Small vehicles have been allowed to move in both directions since morning. Heavy vehicles will be flagged off after light vehicles have passed. Eventually vehicles of the security forces will be allowed to go from Jammu to Srinagar. The Srinagar-Sonmarg-Gumri highway is closed for vehicles due to slippery conditions. The Mughal road connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Shopian in south Kashmir is closed due to snowfall.
