Aditi Seva Pratishthan organized World Women's Day on Sunday at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Ambaphala in which a large number of women participated. The chief guest of the program was Dr. Shashi Sudan Municipal Government Medical College, special guest Dr. Asu Jamwal and the keynote speaker Dr. Sindhu Kapoor, Dean Faculty of Social Science, University of Jammu.
Dr. Sindhu Kapoor while speaking on the occasion said that our women should not look towards Europe for their lives, but we have to look into the golden history of India, where women have been respected every step of the way. The birthplace of mother is said to be greater than heaven. Ancient history in India is full of praise of women. Our culture is women. Our culture has been respecting women since time immemorial. Such households were settled by women who were considered ideal. The names of rivers are also made on women power. Woman means nature. The women of our country have done great work for centuries and their leadership has also been seen in every era. Rani Laldya ruled Kashmir for 50 years and there are hundreds of such examples filled in history.
He said that all the women have to move forward by coming together and supporting each other. The challenges are like Lanka but to set foot like Angad. Giving the example of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, he said that the fruits of the seeds sown by Hon'ble Laxmiwai Kelkar ji should be eaten by distributing them together with the rituals and staying in dignity.
The chief guest, Dr. Shashi Sudan said that women should recognize their power and awaken the dormant powers inside them. We have to work together not alone but only then there will be complete women empowerment.
During the program, Major Akash Singh Jamwal, who was martyred in Poonch, and Havaldar Krishna Lal Khajuria, who was martyred in Kupwara, were honored by remembering their contribution towards the country and society. Famous poet and playwright Santosh Sangda was also honored on this occasion.
Premlata, the provincial worker of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, while discussing the activities of the organization in detail, also informed about the service work being done by the women.
