Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged the states to adopt a more conscious and timely methodology on the subject of internal security and policing. He said that we have to make continuous efforts with solidarity to maintain the unity and integrity of the country.



Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a two-day contemplation camp of home ministers of the states through video conferencing this morning. This contemplation camp started on Thursday in Surajkund, Haryana. Home Secretaries and Director Generals of Police (DGPs) from various states and Director Generals of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organizations (CPOs) are participating in the camp.



In his address, the Prime Minister shared his thoughts and suggestions on the subject of police reforms, internal security and modern challenges. The Prime Minister said that anti-national forces are active and are adopting all kinds of tactics. In such a situation, to protect the common citizen, we have to strictly follow the policy of harsh treatment against negative forces. In this context, he urged the urban Naxalites to be careful. He said that along with guns, we also have to beware of Naxalites with pen. These people talk according to law and constitution but their tendency is to divide the country and society. While dealing with such people wisely, we have to do 'doodh ka doodh and pani ka pani'.

He said that today India is progressing rapidly at the global level. At the same time, our challenges are also increasing. Many powers in the world do not want the country to become powerful. On the subject of internal security, the Prime Minister made a special request to the states that in today's time it is very important to focus on fake news. In this era of technology, people have to be made aware that how they can verify a message. He said that a small fake news creates a ruckus in the whole country. People have to be educated that before forwarding anything, it should be verified first.

The Prime Minister said that it is very important for the law and order to be credible. What is the perception of the public is very important. Today, there is a feeling of respect among the countrymen for the disaster response forces of the national and states. People are satisfied with the arrival of NDRF and SDRF. When the police arrive at the crime scene, people should have a feeling that the government has arrived. In the Corona period, the police have done a lot better.



He said that even though law and order is the responsibility of the states in the constitution, but it is associated with the unity and integrity of the country. States should learn and take inspiration from each other and work for the betterment of the country. This is also the spirit of the Constitution and it is also our responsibility towards the countrymen. Emphasizing on cooperation, the Prime Minister said that central agencies and state police have to carry out investigations at times. They also have to go to other countries. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the state that whether it is the agency of the state, whether it is the agency of the center, all the agencies should get the cooperation of each other.

While suggesting to the states, the Prime Minister put forward the idea of ​​One Nation One Police to the states. He said that just as the red box of the post office has become an identity related to the post, similarly we will also have to give an identity to the police. On the addition of various dimensions in the police force, he said that in future we will also need to train the police force from the point of view of tourism. During this, the Prime Minister also made a special mention of the scrap policy of the Central Government and said that to increase the efficiency of the state police, old vehicles should be replaced with new vehicles. It will be beneficial for the environment as well as for the economy.



During this, the Prime Minister emphasized on smart technology and said that it is very important to make law and order smart. To deal with cybercrime or whether drone technology is used as a weapon, we have to keep doing new technology and work.



This Chintan Shivir of Home Ministers is an attempt to provide a national perspective to policy making on matters related to internal security in line with the Pancha Prana announced in the Prime Minister's speech on the occasion of Independence Day. In keeping with the spirit of cooperative federalism, this camp will ensure greater coordination in terms of planning and coordination between various stakeholders at the Central and State level. Issues like modernization of police forces, cyber crime management, increasing use of IT in criminal justice system, land border management, coastal security, women security, drug trafficking were deliberated in this camp.



The Prime Minister reiterated the 5 resolutions taken during his speech at the Red Fort. He said that we all know the importance of building a developed India, freedom from every thought of slavery, pride in heritage, unity and solidarity and civic duty.
