'Pakistan troubled by the delimitation of India in Jammu and Kashmir, summoned the ambassador and raised objections'

Pakistan has been stunned by the delimitation carried out by the Government of India for the Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has raised objections to the delimitation by summoning the Ambassador in charge of India. Pakistan has also spoken of rejecting the report of the Delimitation Commission of India on Kashmir.

India has recently proposed fresh region-wise delimitation for the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. After this, the hope of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir has also arisen soon. In such a situation, Pakistan is shocked by this decision. Pakistan summoned the ambassador in charge of India and not only objected to this decision, but even said that the purpose of this delimitation is to deprive Kashmiri Muslims of citizenship.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry termed this entire process of delimitation in front of the Indian side as ridiculous. It was said on behalf of Pakistan that through these efforts of delimitation, India wants to give only valid basis to its action taken on 5 August 2019. At that time, India had abolished most of the provisions of Article 370 in Kashmir. Now linking the delimitation with the same step, Pakistan has said that India's secret plan is hidden behind the new process. It was alleged that India has designed the assembly constituencies in the name of delimitation in such a way that the advance of Muslims can be reduced.
