The body of a retired teacher was recovered on Friday in Pheripora area of Shopian district. This retired teacher was missing from his house since Thursday.
Abdul Gani Rather (66) of Pudsu village in Shopian was missing since Thursday, a police official said. He said that on Friday morning some locals saw a dead body lying in Nala Vaishav of Pheripora, after which they informed the police about it. Shortly after getting the information, the police team reached the spot and took the body in their possession.
The official said the deceased was mentally unsound and was missing since yesterday, adding that the body would be handed over to the legal heirs after medico-legal formalities. Police has started further investigation in this regard.
