'HASTHSHILPI  SILK INDIA EXPO STARTED IN JAMMU '

Unique Hastashilp  Silk India Expo is being organized in Jammu . In this exhibition, where the silk weavers have displayed artistry with their weav ing art, the weavers have also displayed the pomp of festivals in silk. 
The exhibition is being organized by the Hasthshilpi , President of the organization Rajesh Kumar said that more than 70 weavers from all over the country have come to the exhibition organised in the Hotel Country Inn (Jhelum Resort ). Weavers from the remot est parts of the country have brought with them beautiful sam ples of silk workmanship. Manju Nath, who brought the Kanje evaram saree, told that the saree made of gold zari is woven in a year After making a saree, its pattern is burnt so that it cannot be copied again. These patterns are first made on paper and then on the computer. Accordingly, weaving is done on the welt. Dhirendra Singh, who caine from Assam in the exhibition, has brought a Mekhla saree with him. This is pure silk saree which is woven on Khaddi. Ejaz, a weaver from Kashmir, has brought with him a pashmina shawl weighing 45 grams. Its become such a small watch that it can be kept in the pocket. This shawl gives warmth even in temperatures up to minus 20 degrees . Exhibition will last upto 9 Th October.
