Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir's budget for the financial year 2023-24 in Parliament. Copies of the 2023-24 budget of Jammu and Kashmir have reached the Parliament. However, amid heavy uproar, the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm.
The second phase of the budget session of Parliament has started from Monday. Sitharaman is going to present the budget of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the financial year 2023-24 in the Parliament. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have high hopes from this budget.
However, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm amid heavy hue and cry from the opposition parties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting with top ministers regarding the strategy of the government and the BJP in the second phase of the budget session. Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and many other leaders are also involved in the meeting with the Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that there will be a total of 17 sittings in the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. This session will run till 06 April. The budget session of Parliament has resumed after a month long break.
On the other hand, to show solidarity among the opposition leaders, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called a meeting of opposition leaders before the start of the budget session, in which many big leaders including Sonia Gandhi were present.
