Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Champawat district of Uttarakhand at 1:57 pm. According to the District Disaster Operation Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.7 on the Richter scale and the depth was 10 km below the ground. Its center remained in the neighboring country of Nepal.
In-charge District Magistrate Hemant Kumar Verma has sought details of the latest situation from the entire district to the Disaster Operation Center. At present, no damage has been reported from anywhere in the district.
