A civilian was killed after he sustained ‘critical’ injuries when a bullet hit him in Haal village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police officer said that it was an accidental fire.
Reports said that the bullet hit a civilian after the service rifle of a security personnel went off accidentally.
The victim identified as Asif Ahmed, a resident of Koterwali Shopian was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation into the matter
